What is the Pride Alliance?

The Pride Alliance at the University of Rochester is an employee resource group dedicated to creating and sustaining a positive work environment which values and supports all individuals regardless of sexual orientation or gender expression.

The Pride Alliance was formed in 2006 to respond to the needs of gay, lesbian, bisexual and Transgendered (GLBT) employees and their allies at the University of Rochester. Its goal is to empower employees to interact in an open an honest manner, without fear, and to create an environment that is respectful of all employees.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Pride Alliance at the University of Rochester is to build and maintain a positive work environment for all individuals regardless of sexual orientation or gender expression, so that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, queer/questioning and intersexed employees see themselves as valued members fully contributing to meet the goals of the University of Rochester.
