Frederick Douglass Institute Speaker: Ngugi Wa Thiong'o

Ngugi Wa Thiong'o, social activist, writer, and scholar, will give a talk titled "Language as Battlefield: My Journey in the Minefield." Hhiong'o is currently a Distinguished Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University of California, Irvine. Prior to the lecture, Kerfala Fana Bangoura and Mounfanyi drum and dance ensemble will perform at 4:45 p.m.
