"From Otherlands to Motherlands," with Alissa Quart filmmaker and author. Post/Feminism/Media brings journalists and media makers to the University of Rochester for Women’s History Month to discuss and showcase work that tackles issues of gender equality, reproductive rights, and representation through traditional news venues and innovative media platforms.
The talk is free and open to the public. Cosponsored by the Humanities Project, the Department of Anthropology, the Department of Art & Art History, the Program in Visual and Cultural Studies, Film and Media Studies, and the Susan B. Anthony Institute for Gender and Women's Studies.
The three-day film and lecture series, March 18-20, looks at the work of female journalists, authors, and filmmakers working to bring attention to stories about motherhood in America, sex and sexuality, reproductive rights, and racial inequality.
