Affinity Group Executive Champions RecognizedThe Office of Human Resources-Multicultural Affairs and Inclusion is proud to recognize three individuals who are making a difference by participating in the Affinity Group Executive Champion Program; Chuck DiNolfo (the African American Network), Paul Burgett (the Pride Alliance) and Bill Passalacqua (the Latino Professional Alliance). One of the many ways that the University of Rochester's senior leadership demonstrates its support of diversity and inclusion efforts is through its support of the Affinity groups in the role of the Executive Champions. The Executive Champion Program was created to provide support to the affinity groups at the senior management level. These individuals partner with an Affinity group and act as a voice to focus, represent and educate senior management on the unique diversity issues within a particular constituency. The key roles of the Executive Champion include but are not limited to:
Champions are consciously chosen from a group that is different from the one for which they are a champion. This intentional selection process is important to the development of the cultural competence for both the Champion and the Affinity group members; which enables them to become more effective allies to each other in supporting the University's diversity and inclusion goals.
