The Conservatory Exchange Program expands opportunities for Eastman students by creating student exchanges with leading European conservatories. A semester or year abroad offers the chance to improve language skills, appreciate a different culture, find a unique educational experience, learn about national performing styles, complete important research, or seek career opportunities. The Simon School offers international exchange opportunities to provide experience abroad to students anticipating careers with an international focus. Qualified participants in the program can receive up to 9 hours of credit towards their Simon M.B.A., taking classes with native students as well as students from around the world. The program provides the opportunity to live and study in a foreign country, to further develop language skills, and to increase students’ multicultural awareness. The program is open to students after completion of their first year, during the summer or an academic term in their second year. Students enrolled in the Simon EMBA program have the opportunity to travel to Switzerland during their studies to attend seminars and network with Simon’s Rochester-Bern EMBA students. An additional trip to China for a course in Emerging Markets is also available. Participating students are able to supplement their learning and effectively widen their business network to include colleagues from around the world.
The Medical School has a robust program allowing University of Rochester medical students to go abroad for research and clinical experiences. The program provides opportunities and support for students interested in enriching their medical education with hands-on experiences in a cross-cultural environment. The goal of the exchange program is to strengthen the academic relationships, advance medical education, promote scientific research, and enhance collaboration between the students and faculties. Specifically, the exchange programs offer clerkships and advanced clinical electives for medical students in their senior year.
