Most graduate students qualify for free online tax preparation services based on income. Two well-known companies that provide these services for both federal and NYS returns are: TurboTax Freedom Edition (http://turbotax.intuit.com/taxfreedom/) which requires your adjusted gross income to be less than $31,000 and H&R Block Free File (http://www.hrblock.com/taxes/partner/index.jsp) which requires your adjusted gross income to be less than $57,000.
