Ellen would like to thank everyone in all the committees and those who support GOG.
Social Committee
Ski Trip
February 28, 2004
$15 or 20$ subsidiary
Total price is $60 b/4 subsidiary
Students will get lift all day, equipment all day and ski lesson
Email to let students know about subsidizing
-26 students said they will go
-4 don't have transportation
No bus will be booked at this point; will use cars instead
Spot Evening

Cristina will be there 7-10pm
Curtain space is reserved
GOG signs needed for spot and ski trip
Ice Skating
Herrman is in charge of this one
7:15-8:45pm
Rental requires more than 50 pairs to receive a deal
-B/4 deal $2.50 per pair
-After deal $1.25 per pair
It was not sure whether or not GOG would provide food
It was asked, .When will email be sent out to the departments about events?.

Suggestions included:
Movies, concert, theater ticket(but, individual students get better discount)

Traffic lessons for Foreign students
$50 each student
2-3 hour class
Time will be set b/w coach and student

Questionaire can be sent out to get the amount of interest
-will be put on 70 and 72 buses
-forward to each student
As a way to encourage them to fill form maybe give a free lunch, badge, pin, etc.
Rajesh proposed the question .How can we motivate students to be more interested in GOG?.
-possible suggestion was to have a survey at the GOG website that automatically submits your name into a lottery.

Jonathan worked on this one
He sent email to GOG Reps that is more detailed
In Washington he learned of the current issues NAGPS is tackling
1.Tax code
raises amount and things we can deduct:living expenses, books, etc.
2.Students Loans
Interest from student loans will be deductable to a greater extent
There is another lobby day in June
14 sign ons; needs 50 to go to vote
Possible letter writing campaign to increase awareness
Will cost the University nothing
Med School, Eastman, and Simon schools should be contacted for their support
Requires no money just time

5 price quotes from insurance companies were compared to UR current plan
Ellen can.t share exact company names
Ellen spoke w/Dean Jacobs in order to bring about positive change
-needs 12 true stories of bad health care
