We are an association of Indian graduate students at the University of Rochester.

Our Beginnings

RIA was formed in the Spring, 2007. Since then, it has served as a platform for conducting social events geared towards students of Indian origin at the University of Rochester.

Our Events

RIA takes pride in hosting multiple events around the year such as Republic Day, Holi, Independence Day, Diwali and many more.

For our newbies

RIA has supported freshers/incoming students over the years to help them make a smooth transition to graduate student life in Rochester.

Welcome Freshers

RIA heartily welcomes you to the Flower City (also called Flour City) of Rochester. Rochester has a lot to offer starting from the Rochester Lilac Festival, the largest free festival of its kind in North America to the oldest museum dedicated to photography, George Eastman Museum. We look forward to helping you make a smooth transition to Rochester and hope to make your stay a memorable one through our different events.
