Research Area: Emerging Influenza

Emerging influenza viruses, including the 2009 H1N1 and avian H5N1 viruses, pose a significant threat to human health and have caused a global pandemic with high costs of disease and mortality. Rochester is playing a leading role in research on influenza viruses, including avian flu, with emphasis on immune modeling and structural biology.
