Organizational Chart

The Academic & Research team is responsible for providing leadership and services that support the academic mission of the University. Program areas include Instructional Computing, Research Computing, and Technical Support, which along with the IT Center, provides support to faculty, staff, and students.

Instructional Computing

Educational Technology Center : Located on the ground floor in the Rush Rhees Library, the Ed Tech Center is a one-stop-shop that assists Arts, Sciences, and Engineering faculty through individual training and departmental support in the use of information technology tools for instruction, including, multimedia, collaboration software, and Internet resources. The Ed Tech Center also provides support for academic and administrative department web sites in Arts, Sciences and Engineering.

Classroom Technology : Located in Hoyt Hall, Classroom Technology Services oversees the management for traditional and "electronic hands-on classrooms" on the River Campus to meet the growing demand for technology integration with instructional activities. Room and equipment reservations for undergraduate courses requiring technology-enhanced classrooms are supported in cooperation with the Office of the College Registrar.

Research Computing

Center for Research Computing:  The Center for Research Computing provides University researchers with the necessary resources, assistance and collaborative tools to fully utilize high-performance computation for their research activities. 

Technical Support

IT Center: Located in Rush Rhees Library, the IT Center provides first-level technology support to faculty, staff, students, and visitors of the University of Rochester. Support is available for software installations, operating system upgrades, wireless network configurations, virus detection/disinfecting, and general troubleshooting.

More advanced desktop consulting is provided to administrative and academic units in Arts, Sciences, and Engineering, University executives, Advancement and others through consulting liaisons assigned to specific areas.
