Dealing with Spam Messages |
University IT uses Sophos' PureMessage as a web-based spam filtering system for all email messages on University servers. Spam filtering may be set up not only for individual email accounts, but for Majordomo and Exchange mailing lists as well. |

Additionally, Majordomo mailing lists and Exchange distribution lists can be set up to filter out spam messages. |
Majordomo users: Spam filtering must be specified when submitting a mailing form request. Simply click "yes" for the "Enable spam protection?" heading. Note: List owner will need to have PureMessage enabled on their own email account. |
Exchange users: Spam filtering must be specified when submitting a distribution list request. Simply click "yes" for the "Enable spam protection" heading. Note: List owner will need to have PureMessage enabled on their own email account. |
