Important Safety Recall Information

March 1, 2007 – Lenovo, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, today announced the voluntary recall of approximately 205,000 extended-life, 9-cell battery packs. In the interests of public safety, Lenovo will offer customers free-of-charge replacements for all recalled battery packs.

IBM/Levono Sony Battery Recall (September 2006)

Lenovo and IBM Corporation, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and other regulatory agencies, have announced the voluntary recall of certain lithium-ion batteries manufactured by Sony Corporation. In the interest of public safety, Lenovo will offer customers free-of-charge replacement batteries for all recalled batteries.

15-inch MacBook Pro Battery Exchange Program (August 2006)

Apple has initiated a worldwide battery exchange program for certain rechargeable batteries that were sold for use with 15-inch MacBook Pro computer systems from February 2006 through May 2006. Apple will replace these batteries for customers free of charge. Note: The affected batteries do not pose a safety risk. You may continue to use your current battery until a replacement arrives.

Dell Notebook Battery Recall (August 2006)

Dell is recalling notebook batteries for specific models sold between April 2004 and July 2006. Please visit https://www.dellbatteryprogram.com/ for information about which models are affected and instructions on how to replace your battery.

Safety notice: iPhone 3G Power Adapter

September 2008 - Apple has issued a safety notice regarding the Power Adapter for the 3G iPhone. Under certain conditions, the metal prongs can break off and create a risk of shock. There have not been any injuries reported; however Apple has initiated an exchange program to replace the existing adapters with a new version.
