Below are typical rates for directory assistance from each of the various telephone service providers. The University spends an average of $1,300 monthly on 411 calls. Below are 3 ways to call 411 for FREE. Please share this information with cellular users in your department.

Google's new 411 service is free, fast and easy to use. Dial (1-800) GOOG-411. Say where. Say what you're looking for. GOOG-411 will connect you with the business you choose.
Currently, GOOG-411 is only available in the US and Canada for US and Canadian business listings. GOOG-411 can be used from any personal or work phone, whether it is a fixed/landline phone, mobile phone or VoIP phone. Residential info is not available at this time.

1-800-FREE411 is free nationwide directory assistance and is free from any phone. Cell. Home. Work.
3. 1-800-YELLOWPAGES (1-800-935-5697)
From any phone, there's just one number to find restaurants, shops, hotels and more. Search local and nationwide listings by name, or search by category. No matter how you search — it's FREE. You do not have to be an AT&T customer.
