Quarterly Cellular Audit Notification
January 2013
Business Managers and Department Administrators:
In our continued efforts to monitor cellular costs we are providing a cellular report for your department for January 2013. The report provides departments with detailed information on the mobile devices and corresponding plans assigned to their ledgers.
The information contained in the report includes the division, department, ledger/subcode, device number, carrier, plan type, plan description (including other features like insurance, push-to-talk, etc.), and the monthly plan cost. The report also provides subtotals for device number, ledger/subcode, and department.
The University is on pooled plans with our cellular carriers, AT&T and Verizon. University IT adjusts voice plans quarterly depending on usage.
Reminders to share with users to avoid unnecessary cellular costs:

When planning to travel
abroad, update your voice/data plan to an international plan. Contact University IT to
add an international voice/data plan to your mobile device before
traveling.

- Monitor Equipment costs:
- Do not purchase new equipment before the two-year contract term expires to avoid higher equipment costs
- Contact University IT for upgrade eligibility dates and equipment pricing
Currently, the AT&T discount on voice/data plans is 20% and the Verizon discount on voice/data plans is 22%, with smartphone data plans at $20/month.
