Augmented Reality at MAG

Learn how a new smartphone app is bringing paintings from the Gallery’s collection to life using student-created animations. The presentation by RIT professors Susan Lakin and David Halbstein will be followed by a walk through the galleries to see the animated artworks in action. The lecture and tour are included with Gallery admission.

The Center for Integrated Research Computing (CIRC) will host its next symposium on Friday, December 20 in URMC 2-6408 (K-207 Auditorium). This month’s featured speaker is Jean-Philippe Couderc from the Department of Medicine. He will describe details of developing a high-resolution 3D heart model. The on-going research talk will feature results from density functional theory (DFT) calculations of metal complexes as presented by Sarina Bellows from the Department of Chemistry.

The Center for Integrated Research Computing (CIRC) will host its next symposium on Friday, January 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Computer Studies Building (CSB) room 209 on the River Campus This month’s featured speaker is Oleg Prezhdo from the Department of Chemistry. He will describe details of the development and application of adiabatic molecular dynamics simulations with time-dependent density functional theory for the study of quantum dots.
