CIRC Symposium
The Center for Integrated Research Computing (CIRC) will host its monthly symposium on Friday, April 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tom Mariani from the Department of Pediatrics, Neonatology will be the featured speaker this month. His talk will focus on the genomics of lung development and disease. The ongoing research talk will be presented by Raj Parihar from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, who will address issues in accelerating approximable programs through evolutionary algorithms. Pizza and soda will be served during the symposium.

CIRC Symposium
The Center for Integrated Research Computing (CIRC) will host its monthly symposium on Friday, March 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. This month’s featured speaker is Curt Signorino from the Department of Political Science. His talk will focus on the computational analysis in studies of international conflicts. The ongoing research talk will be presented by Nick Leioatts from the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics. His presentation will look at molecular dynamics simulations of a medically important protein. (More details are available in the presentation abstracts.) Pizza and soda will be served during the symposium.

The Center for Integrated Research Computing (CIRC) will host its monthly symposium on Friday, February 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. This month’s featured speaker is Alex Paciorkowski from the Department of Neurology. His talk will focus on finding pathogenic variants in results from whole exome sequencing. The ongoing research talk will be presented by Heather Jaeger from the Department of Chemistry. Her talk will examine solar energy conversion from nanoscale photovoltaics using simulation studies. Abstracts of the talks are available here. Pizza and soda will be served during the symposium.

This month’s featured speaker is Adam Frank from the Department of Physics and Astronomy. His talk will illustrate roles that telescopes, computers, and laboratories serve to address questions in astrophysics and plasma science. Pizza and soda will be served during the symposium.

The Center for Integrated Research Computing (CIRC) will host its monthly symposium on Friday, December 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. This month’s featured speaker is Anthony Almudevar from the Biostatistics and Computational Biology. His talk will focus on efforts to improve the use of boolean networks used in the reconstruction of gene regulatory networks. The on-going research talk will be given by Stanislav Bellaousov from the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics.
