Talk: Vision and Directions of Online Learning in Higher Education

The second forum of the fall 2014 Online Learning Symposia, “Vision and Directions of Online Learning in Higher Education,” featuring Darcy Hardy, associate vice president at education software company Blackboard, will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, in the Hawkins-Carlson Room, Rush Rhees Library. The Center for Integrated Research Computing (CIRC) will host its next symposium on Friday, November 21st on River Campus. This month’s featured speaker is Pierre-Alexandre Gourdain from the Department of Physics and Astronomy. He will describe how computing and laboratory experiments help improve our understanding of the universe. The ongoing research talk will feature a Perl-based tool for processing miRNA RNA-seq data, as presented by Jason Myers from the University of Rochester Genomics Research Center. Pizza and soda will be served during the event.…
