The following software packages are installed on Troi:
Note: References of the form name(1) refer to
on-line manual pages. You
can read these by using the "man" command; for example, to read the
document "balance(1)", type the command "man balance".
Note: This is not a comprehensive list. In particular,
some software that is considered "standard" UNIX software, or which is
part of the SunOS 5.x distribution, may not be listed below, even though
it is installed on the Troi cluster.
Licensed Software
These software packages are licensed for use on Troi only, and they are
not available on other machines in the Troi cluster unless stated
otherwise. If you are having problems getting a package to
execute, try using it on Troi itself.
- GAUSS
- GAUSS is a complete analysis environment
suitable for performing quick calculations, complex analysis of millions
of data points, or anything in between.
- MATHEMATICA
- Mathematica is Wolfram's
symbolic math processing system with graphics. See also: math(1)

- MATLAB
- MATLAB
is an integrated technical computing environment that
combines numeric computation, advanced graphics and visualization,
and a high-level programming language. See also: matlab(1)

- SAS
- SAS is an integrated
suite of software for enterprise-wide information delivery.
Applications of the SAS System include executive information systems;
data entry, retrieval, and management; report writing and graphics;
statistical and mathematical analysis; business planning, forecasting,
and decision support; operations research and project management; statistical
quality improvement; computer performance evaluation; and applications
development.
- SUN ONE STUDIO
- Sun Forte Developer is a
suite
of compilers and development tools including compilers for C, C++,
Fortran77, Fortran90, and Pascal. Tools include a visual editor,

- perl
- Perl is an interpreted language
optimized for scanning arbitrary text files, extracting information from
those text files, and printing reports based on that information. The
language is intended to be practical (easy to use, efficient, complete)
rather than beautiful (tiny, elegant, minimal). An
