Windows VPN Errors
University IT engineers have identified an issue related to running the Windows native VPN client on Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit) machines with Service Pack 1 installed.
University IT engineers have identified the potential for a connection error (Error 789) when using the native VPN client on Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit) machines with Service Pack 1 installed. When machines running these operating systems enter sleep or hibernate modes, or abruptly disconnect (for example, closing a laptop when traveling between meetings) during a VPN session, users may be unable to re-establish a connection until the session timer expires.
Visit the University IT VPN page to download the Cisco VPN client for Windows. The Cisco VPN client is available to all users with an active relationship with the University, and can be obtained by clicking through the "Instructions for the University VPN" link, logging in with your University NetID and password, and selecting the OS-appropriate client.
