When you become a content manager or information provider you will need an account on the Web server we use to host your pages. Other servers on campus have their own administrators and application process. There are over 150 Web servers on the university network. If you need access to a server and do not know who to contact, ask us: WebHelp@mail.rochester.edu.
To apply for access to the servers we administer you must fill out the on line Information Provider Application Form. Read the instructions careful and fill it out completely. You must sign this form digitally; even so, it is legally binding. Incomplete forms will delay your account setup. When your account is ready, you will be contacted for an orientation meeting in your office on the machine you will be using to do your web authoring. Typically, this takes one week. However, during peak times, it may take longer.
