Develop a collaborative approach to support world-class computational research
With a Center Program Director and key technical staff in place, the pilot implementation of initial computational resources will lay the foundation for developing early cost estimates for a potential collaborative opportunity with IBM.
Create and maintain a modern and secure web presence for the University’s electronic image.
This initiative encompasses a comprehensive vulnerability assessment program, a hardened infrastructure, the coordinated development and implementation of University guidelines, and University wide coordination of risk management and maintenance.
Maintain required functionality in administrative systems
This addresses the modest and predictable year over year funding of critical integrated administrative systems projects necessary to support key opportunities in lieu of system replacement. It will also include the continued expansion of the new data warehouse for any remaining areas.
Associate roles and needs of individuals to assist in identifying, communicating with, and managing their relationship with the University
The high-level goals of this initiative are to establish one coordinated identity for every member of the University community, establish process and tools to support granting and revoking system access, and to support key aspects of mission such as interdisciplinary activities and donor centricity.
Initiate and maintain an institutional commitment to information technology security and compliance
Deliverables include the development and implementation of a comprehensive set of IT policies, an expanded security awareness program for students, faculty, and staff, institutional systems to protect against malicious attacks and protect sensitive data, and remediation of the highest risk system compliance issues.
Other strategic projects for this five-year fiscal period include the Data Center Environment of the Future and Advancement.
