Faculty of the College can work with the
Educational Technology Center to publish course materials to the web.
Web Server Account
When you wish to publish course materials on the web, you will need an
account on the web server the Ed Tech Center uses to host your course-related
pages.
You can apply for an account online.
A consultant will contact you when your account is ready. Accounts generally
take 1-2 business days.
The Ed Tech Center hosts course-related web sites at http://www.courses.rochester.edu.
Accessing your CourseWeb Pages
You are required to use a Secure FTP protocol to upload/download your course web pages on www.courses.rochester.edu.
Recommended Programs
- Dreamweaver MX 2004 and above (older versions of Dreamweaver will not be able to connect through the Site Manager)
- SSH Secure Shell (for Windows) [download] [documentation]
- CyberDuck (for Mac OS X) [download]
Training
After you've received an account, a technology consultant can meet with
you to discuss options for publishing your course materials. Workshops
and/or demonstrations are offered throughout the year that may help
you as well.
