A spam message is currently being circulated that contains a virus in a zip file attachment. four variants of the message have been spotted: one from Coca Cola announcing a Christmas promotion, one from Hallmark notifying you've received an e-card, one from Mcdonalds wishing you a Merry Christmas, and one from

These messages are not from these actual organizations and contain a malicious file attachment. By opening the attachment, several files are installed which log keystrokes and spread the virus by sending itself to the email addresses found on your computer.

If you receive any of these messages, do not open the message or the attachment. Delete them immediately. If you feel you have opened a suspicious email please contact the IT Center at 275-2000.
