March 1, 2007 – Lenovo, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, today announced the voluntary recall of approximately 205,000 extended-life, 9-cell battery packs. In the interests of public safety, Lenovo will offer customers free-of-charge replacements for all recalled battery packs.

IBM/Levono Sony Battery Recall (September 2006)
Lenovo and IBM Corporation, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and other regulatory agencies, have announced the voluntary recall of certain lithium-ion batteries manufactured by Sony Corporation. 15-inch MacBook Pro Battery Exchange Program (August 2006)
Apple has initiated a worldwide battery exchange program for certain rechargeable batteries that were sold for use with 15-inch MacBook Pro computer systems from February 2006 through May 2006. Apple will replace these batteries for customers free of charge. Note: The affected batteries do not pose a safety risk. You may continue to use your current battery until a replacement arrives.
