| Mission Statement: | The purposes of the University of Rochester Women's Caucus will be: • To educate the university community about feminist issues and the debilitating effects of sexism. • To enhance the feminist community on campus by raising consciousness and awareness. • To establish a broad constituency of diverse students to work in pursuit of feminist ideals. • To educate and take action on campus, local, state, national and international feminist issues and concerns. • To provide leadership and career building opportunities for feminist students. | |
| Meetings, Activities & Goals: | The Caucus is a tool for achieving our primary goal – raising the consciousness of both ourselves and those outside the Caucus as to reveal to all the need for a re-evaluation of currently held attitudes and actions toward women. Women's Caucus holds weekly meetings, various panels, film screenings, roundtable discussions, teach-ins, and brings in various speakers from the outside community. Some of our past activities have included Love Your Body Day, Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Sexual Assault Awarenss Day, the Clothesline Project, Take Back the Night Rally/March, The Vagina Monologues, Equal Pay Day, and Women's History Month. | |
