Students for Interfaith Action (SIA)
Year Founded: 2008
Official Website: None
Mission Statement: Interfaith dialogue introduces and reinforces interdependence, cooperation and respect amongst people of varying beliefs and practices. Community activism is a mode by which people of diverse religious backgrounds can connect and act together to benefit the larger community. SIA will actively seek to connect the faith communities as well as unaffiliated students on campus through community activism as described above. SIA will plan interfaith events, community service programming and social justice campaigns for the campus at large in order to connect students to each other while connecting to and serving the larger Rochester community.
Meetings, Activities & Goals: --Three SIA meetings a month are dedicated to planning programs --On the first Tuesday of every month we have a special meeting where we all get together to do something a little more interactive, update the whole group on programming, reflect on past events and new committees will be presented. --At Religious Roundtable (est 2001) meetings we discuss different topics related to religion each week. Topics are posted in advance. ALL MEETINGS ARE OPEN TO EVERYONE!!!
