Mission Statement: The purpose of Afro-Expressions is to promote awareness, fitness, and enjoyment of African-based performing arts. Activities include dance, drum, and drama.
Meetings, Activities & Goals: Afro-Expression's goal is to enhance the knowledge and enjoyment of West-African motion and rhythms through dance, drum, and drama. No previous experience is required. Eligible members include UR students (undergrad and graduate), faculty, and staff. Several community performances, and dance workshops led by guest artists are planned each semester. Feel free to join if you're ready to meet new people, get exercise, and have a great time! Weekly practices are held each Saturday @ 11:30AM in the May Room (4th floor, Wilson Commons).
