Important dates to remember

 

For Early Decision Students:

November 1st Must have completed registration for College Scholarship Service PROFILE (CSS).
November 15th Must have completed College Scholarship Service PROFILE (CSS) application 
February 1st Must  have completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  
June 1st  Must have completed the University of Rochester Verification Statement, handed in all parent and student tax returns, and parent and student W2's.
Over the Summer If eligible - Federal Direct Master Promissory Note and Federal Perkins Promissory Notes will be mailed to you.
During Orientation  Pre-Loan Entrance Counseling should be completed on-line. 

For First-Year Regular Decision Students:

January 15th Must have completed registration for College Scholarship Service PROFILE (CSS).
February 1st Must have completed College Scholarship Service PROFILE (CSS) application 
February 1st Must  have completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
June 1st  Must have completed the University of Rochester Verification Statement, handed in all parent and student tax returns, and parent and student W2's. 
Over the Summer If eligible - Federal Direct Master Promissory Note and Federal Perkins Promissory Notes will be mailed to you.
During Orientation  Pre-Loan Entrance Counseling should be completed on-line.  

For Transfer Students:

When Part 1 of Admission Application is Submitted Must have completed registration for College Scholarship Service PROFILE (CSS).
Immediately upon receiving from CSS Must have completed College Scholarship Service PROFILE (CSS) application 
At the same time CSS Profile is completed  Must  have completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
At the same time CSS Profile  and FAFSA are completed Must have completed the University of Rochester Verification Statement, handed in all parent and student tax returns, and parent and student W2's. 
Over the Summer If eligible - Federal Direct Master Promissory Note and Federal Perkins Promissory Notes will be mailed to you.
During Orientation  Pre-Loan Entrance Counseling should be completed on-line. If you will be entering as a Junior and you are a New York State resident you must have declared your major by the start of the fall semester in order to receive New York State awards. 

For Returning Students:

December-January Financial aid materials will be mailed to you - if you do not receive financial aid materials it is the students responsibility to contact our office for the appropriate paperwork.
April 15th Must have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
April 15th Must have completed the University of Rochester Verification Statement, handed
in all parent and student tax returns, and parent and student W2's.
Over the Summer  If eligible - Federal Perkins Promissory Note will be mailed to you.
If you did not receive a Federal Direct Loan last year, a Federal Direct Master Promissory Note will be mailed to you.
Beginning of School Year If this is the first year you are borrowing from the U of R.  Please contact the Office of Student Financial Assistance to find out when pre-loan counseling sessions are scheduled.
The End of Your Sophomore Year You must have your major declared or your financial aid may be in jeopardy. For more info click here.

For Graduate Students:

June 1st Must have completed the  Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
June 1st Must have completed the University of Rochester Verification Statement, handed in all student and spouse tax returns, and student and spouse W2's
Over the Summer If you did not receive a Federal Direct Loan last year, a Federal Direct Master Promissory note will be mailed to you.
During Orientation  If this is the first year you are borrowing from the U of R,  please complete Pre-Loan Entrance Counseling on-line.
