Web Advisory Committee

The committee serves as a University-wide forum for webmasters, Web page publishers, systems administrators, and others to exchange technical knowledge and information on user (both internal and external) requirements. Comments, thoughts, and recommendations are shared with the University Web Group.

Web development at the University is highly decentralized. As a result, there is a critical need to share information among the page publishers throughout the University, whether or not their pages are hosted on the University's central Web server or on independent Web servers established on the various campuses. The committee works to share expertise and common experiences across department and division boundaries.

The committee usually meets the third Wednesday of every month. Currently, the meetings are held 11 a.m.–noon in Rush Rhees G113.

A mailing list (www-advisory@cc.rochester.edu) has been established for all day-to-day communications.
