Frederick Douglass Building

Frederick Douglass, the preeminent African-American leader of his time, was an orator and editor who spent many of his creative years between 1847 and 1872 in Rochester. Built in 1955 as the men's dining center, the Frederick Douglass Building has been renovated several times over the years and currently supports a large student dining facility, the campus bookstore, and "The Meliora," a student and faculty club restaurant.
