Harkness Hall

Built in 1946 to house the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps, Harkness Hall was designed to resemble a ship. The building was named after Rear Admiral William Harkness, who graduated from the University in 1858 and became a naval astronomer.

Later Harkness Hall was renovated, and the open center of the building filled in to use the facility more efficiently as a faculty and classroom environment. Currently the economics and political science departments call Harkness home.
