Schlegel Hall main entrance
Built in 1991, Schlegel Hall was named for Helen Schlegel Moretz, a 1937 graduate, to honor her parents, George Carl and Caroline Stecher Schlegel, benefactors of the University and the Rochester community. In 2001, the Gleason Hall addition was built in the name of James S. Gleason of the Gleason Foundation, a 1968 graduate, advisor, and friend. Schlegel and Gleason Halls support the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration with numerous lecture halls, seminar rooms, and offices.
James S. Gleason Hall is the 38,000-square-foot classroom building linked to Schlegel Hall. Completed in 2001, it increased usable space for the School's teaching, admissions and corporate partnership activities by nearly 64 percent. It is named for James S. Gleason, president and director of the Gleason Foundation and a major benefactor to the Simon School. Gleason Hall houses five new classrooms, up to 16 study rooms, and a significantly expanded Career Management Center suite, including eight dedicated interview rooms.
