Todd Union

Built in 1930 as the University's first student union, Todd Union was named after Rochester industrialist George W. Todd. Todd was elected to the Board of Trustees twice, but he declined the appointments, believing that he could assist the University more effectively if he had no official ties to the administration. The building originally housed the only food service for the University as well as a billiard room and the original Rathskeller.

Todd Union is currently home to the campus post office and bank as well as the Black Box Theatre, where students are encouraged to take part in several performances a year. WRUR, the University's own radio station, and the music department are also located in the building.
