Dean Robert Clark welcomes back alumni, former faculty members, students, and parents for the inaugural Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Symposium.

Keynote addresses are: 
• " The Future of Engineering" by Charles M. Vest, president of the National Academy of Engineering and president emeritus of MIT.
• "The Bridge Between Engineering and Arts and Sciences" by Henry Petroski, the Arthur S. Vesic Professor of Civil Engineering and Professor of History at Duke University and author of more than a dozen books on engineering and design.

Duncan Moore '71 (MS), '74 (PhD), vice provost for entrepreneurship at the University, leads a panel of alumni guests on a discussion of the relationship between energy and entrepreneurship and the importance of this relationship now and in the future. Panelists include Jack Baron ’83, co-founder and president of the Advanced Solutions Group at PAETEC; Kristina Johnson, United States Undersecretary of Energy; and Barry Sanders ‘83, president and COO of American DG Energy Inc.
