Current and former Workshop leaders, their families, and interested friends and colleagues are invited to attend an open house hosted by the Center for Workshop Education (formed in 2008) and Learning Assistance Services. Learn about how the Workshop program has grown and hear about the newly formed Center for Workshop Education. Recent participants in leader training will present their research. Light refreshments provided.

Collaborating with faculty on research and engaging in original research can be life changing experiences for undergraduates. The Journal of Undergraduate Research (JUR) invites you to hear from the JUR staff, students, and faculty involved in undergraduate research and to learn about undergraduate research activities and opportunities.

NROTC alumni are welcome to stop by for an informal visit with NROTC staff and to meet some of today’s midshipmen. Parents, please come see and hear about some of the latest accomplishments of your sons and daughters.

The University of Rochester Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Singers, comprised of River Campus undergraduate students, presents an afternoon “open house” concert featuring classical music in the style of Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert.

Gather in the tent on the Wilson Commons Quad for this casual dinner. Catch up with fellow alumni, parents, families, and students; your whole family is invited. Reserved seating by class year.

Students and alumni are invited to jump-start the weekend with the newest craze to hit the business world—speed networking! A structured, fast-paced networking activity followed by a reception insures maximum student and alumni interaction. Alumni and parents are encouraged to bring business cards. A cash bar will be available for your enjoyment.

The 100-plus member Wind Symphony will present a diverse program of traditional and contemporary works for wind ensemble. The Men’s Glee Club will present an energetic and entertaining performance in keeping with the long-standing men’s singing tradition on the River Campus.

It’s fun, it’s irreverent … it’s Meliora Night Live! With tongue firmly planted in cheek join us as we poke some friendly fun at all that is Rochester. No “Rochester roast” would be complete without hysterical videos, live stand-up comedy, and great bands! You won’t want to miss this hilariously entertaining night!

President Joel Seligman provides a lively update on the University of Rochester today and the future roles the University will play in education, research, discovery, and the Rochester community.

Do you have questions about the current admissions and financial aid process? Alumni, parents, and college-bound teens are invited to stop in at the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to visit with admissions staff members as well as Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid Jonathan Burdick. Guided campus tours will be available at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Fun and games await the entire family! Face painting, free snacks, and carnival-type activities will keep your young Yellowjackets buzzing. Appropriate for all ages. University policy requires children under the age of 12 to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Whether you are a student approaching the end of your undergraduate degree program, or a recent graduate, the decision to join the work force or continue on to a graduate or professional school can be a complex one. Join admissions professionals from the University of Rochester College of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering, the Simon Graduate School of Business, the School of Medicine & Dentistry, the School of Nursing, and the Warner School of Education for an informative panel discussion on the challenges, rewards, and realities of the graduate school experience. Topics will include career directions, the graduate school application process, and funding opportunities. At the conclusion of the program, panelists will be available to discuss individual questions. Parents are welcome to attend. Panelists include Elaine Andolina '79N (MS), director of admissions and co-director, Accelerated Programs for Non-Nurses  at the School of Nursing; Pam Black-Colton '88S (MBA), executive director of marketing and recruitment at the Warner School of Education; John Hansen, dean of admissions and professor of neurobiology and anatomy at the School of Medicine; Burt Nadler, assistant dean and Career Center director at the College of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering; and Greg MacDonald, executive director of M.B.A. admissions and administration at the Simon Graduate School of Business

The 100-member Symphony Orchestra continues more than 50 years of joyful music-making with this concert of orchestral masterworks. The Women’s Chorus, a unique ensemble featuring a blend of River Campus and Eastman School students, rounds out the program with contemporary repertoire written for female voices.

Simply the best way to complete your Meliora Weekend experience! An audience favorite from last year is back—a collaboration between the UR Gospel Choir and Jazz Ensemble. Join these two fun-loving ensembles for a rousing concert that includes contemporary worship music, big band jazz, and even some cross-pollination between the two groups.
