Changes to employee
health care plans
January 8
President Seligman assembles task force to examine
employee health care plans.
Late April
Task force presents an initial set of recommendations
to Seligman for feedback.
Late May–early June
Recommendations are presented to employee focus groups
and town hall meetings to gather additional feedback.
June
Results of feedback sessions are reviewed and final changes
to the recommendations are made.
Early July
Final recommendations are presented to Seligman.
August
Seligman approves the recommendations and issues a response.
Late August
Human Resources mails information about the plans, health
savings accounts, and other plan-related details.
Early September
HR launches the online cost estimator.
Mid-September
Employees receive open enrollment kits. Additional information
about open enrollment and information sessions is provided
through Currents, @Rochester, and online at www.rochester.edu/news/benefits.
Mid-October
Reminders about open enrollment deadlines mailed
to employees’ homes
Late October
Open enrollment ends.
Early November
Confirmation letters are mailed to employees.
