Rochester artist Anne Havens will exhibit a selection of recent sculpture and related work on paper for the opening show of the fall season in the Gallery at the Art and Music Library on the University of Rochester's River Campus. The exhibit will run from Tuesday, Sept. 3, through Friday, Nov. 1.

Havens deals with a variety of materials. Works in glass, ceramic, plaster, works of and on paper, and of found objects will be included in the exhibition. Containment, breath, air, and light are some of the issues she has been exploring, "but idiosyncratic meanderings are often the rule," she said about her art.

Havens is a member of the board of the Rochester Contemporary (formerly the Pyramid Arts Center) and has been active in launching its new incarnation in downtown Rochester.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; noon to 5 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. A reception to meet the artist will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. The Gallery at the Art and Music Library is located in room G-134 on the ground floor of Rush Rhees Library.

Admission is free and open to the public. For information, call (585) 275-9249.
