The University of Rochester Symphonic Wind Ensemble will present a concert at 8 p.m., Sunday, April 29, in Strong Auditorium on the River Campus.
James Ripley, assistant professor of conducting and ensembles at Eastman School of Music, directs the ensemble, which performs repertoire written for wind band ranging from classical to contemporary styles.
This event will include performances of such pieces as Marching Song by Gustav Holst, Te Deum by Charles Gounod, Japanese Tune by Soichi Konagaya, Tuscan Serenade by Gabriel Faure, An American Symphony by Michael Kamen, Blues for a Killed Kat by Jack End, and Kitten on the Keys by Zez Confrey.
The concert is free and open to the public. Please contact the College Department of Music at (585) 275-2828 at least five days in advance to request any special accommodations.
