EVENT: Warner School Hosts Panel on Education and Racism
Education and racism will be the topic of a panel discussion at the Margaret Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development at the University of Rochester on Monday, Jan. 19, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Welles-Brown Room of Rush Rhees Library on the University’s River Campus.
The panel will include individuals from educational, political, and community contexts who will address the issues of school segregation, the legacy of the Brown vs. Board of Education decision, and the influence of racism on public education today.
This event is part of the Warner School’s Martin Luther King Jr. Education Series, which also will include a colloquium to address the question of “What Constitutes Research for Social Justice?” on Jan. 27, and a workshop on “Education and Social Activism” to be held on Feb. 6.
