EVENT: Jazz Ensemble Concert

TIME, DATE, AND PLACE: 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, in Upper Strong Auditorium on the University of Rochester’s River Campus

ADMISSION: Free and open to the public
Note: Parking is available on University lots after 7 p.m. weeknights.

The River Campus Jazz Ensemble will be giving a concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, in Strong Auditorium on the University of Rochester’s River Campus. Under the guidance of director Eric Schmitz, a doctoral student at the Eastman School of Music, the ensemble will perform such jazz classics as Stompy Jones by Duke Ellington, Time for a Change by Hank Levy, and Li’l Darlin by Neil Hefti in addition to many others. The concert is free and open to the public but donations are welcome.

The concert is one of two that the Jazz Ensemble performs each year on campus. In addition, the group provided entertainment at the Stonehurst Capital Invitational Regatta and the University of Rochester Alumni Association reception in October.
