Student Art Sought for Juried Show
The Susan B. Anthony Institute for Gender and Women’s Studies is seeking submissions for an upcoming exhibition exploring the intersection of gender, identity, and the visual arts.
The juried show, which will run from Feb. 21 through March 25 in the Gallery at the Art and Music Library in Rush Rhees Library, is open to all current undergraduate students and 2004 graduates of the University.
Submissions for “(En)Gendered: Identity, Gender, and Art” can be done in all visual media, including video, site specific installations, painting, photography, and drawing. Works to be considered should be placed in Sage Art Center from Monday, Feb. 7, until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9. The jury will include members from the Anthony Institute and the Department of Art and Art History and outside juror Sarah E. Webb, a nationally exhibited artist and author of Singular Women: Writing the Artist.
The Jurors’ Selection will be awarded the Susan B. Anthony Award for the Visual Arts in the amount of $300, and two additional students will be awarded the Susan B. Anthony Prize in Visual Arts in the amount of $100 each. Any work submitted may be featured on the Institute’s web site.
