EVENT: Viennese Ball

TIME, DATE, AND PLACE: 9 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 11, in Wilson Commons on the University of Rochester River Campus

ADMISSION: $12 in advance or at the door Note: Parking is available on University lots on weekends.

The University of Rochester's annual Viennese Ball is an opportunity to experience "a night in old Vienna," complete with old-fashioned waltzing to live music from the University's orchestras and choirs.

The event is sponsored by the music department and will feature the University's chamber orchestra, symphony orchestra, and choirs.

The ball begins at 9 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 11, in Wilson Commons on the River Campus. The building will be decorated with balloons and banners, with music piped into several floors for dancing. Refreshments will be available. Revelers come in evening dress, though some participants prefer to enhance the spirit of "old Vienna" by attending in period costumes.

Tickets are $12 and can be purchased in advance at the Common Market in Wilson Commons or can be reserved by calling the music department. For more information, contact the department at (585) 275-2828.
