EVENT: University Choir's annual spring show
TIME, DATE, AND PLACE: 3 p.m. Sunday, April 24, in Strong Auditorium on the University of Rochester’s River Campus
ADMISSION: Free and open to the public.
Note: Parking is available on University lots on weekends.
The University Choir of the University of Rochester presents its annual spring concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, in Strong Auditorium on the River Campus. The show is free and open to the public.
The program will include a variety of music, including Eric Whitacre’s Five Hebrew Love Songs accompanied by a string quartet, Franz Schubert’s Mass in G, music by Johannes Brahms and Morten Lauridsen, spirituals, and gospel numbers.
The choir is led by L. Brett Scott, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering, and is accompanied by sophomore Robert Warner.
The University Choir is made up of approximately 50 students, ranging from freshmen to graduate students. The choir is a community-oriented performance group that stresses musical enjoyment and learning. The choir presents several shows a year, including two holiday concerts, concerts with the campus orchestras, and the Viennese Ball.
