U.S. News & World Report Lists Four Graduate Programs Among Tops

University of Rochester graduate programs in economics, political science, nursing, and business have been named among the nation's leading programs in the March 20, 1995 issue of U.S. News and World Report, entitled "America's Best Graduate Schools." The issue goes on newsstands March 13.

The University's doctoral program in political science was ranked ninth in the country; in the specialty area of American Politics, Rochester was listed fifth in the country. The doctoral program in economics was ranked 15th in the nation. The School of Nursing's master's degree program was ranked 14th in the country. The magazine used a reputational survey to determine the rankings, taking into account a school's reputation for scholarship, curriculum, and the quality of faculty and graduating students.

The University's William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration was ranked 24th among the nation's business schools. Scores were calculated based on student selectivity, placement success, and reputation. The Simon School has been listed among the top 25 by U.S. News since the publication began its survey in 1990.
