ADMISSION: Free and open to the public
Representatives from local non-profit organizations will discuss bureaucratic obstacles to their work. Panelists include Andrew Stankevich, executive director of Friends Helping Friends, Inc., an organization that distributes food to those in need; Apostle Joy Powell, an anti-violence activist, and Charles Kellum of Poor People United, who directed the group's "homeless bus," a converted school bus that was used to provide emergency shelter.
The panel is co-sponsored by the Community Living Center, Students for Liberty, Students for Social Justice, and the Rochester Center for Community Leadership at the University of Rochester.
