TIME, DATE, AND PLACE: 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, in Douglass Dining in the Frederick Douglass Building on the University of Rochester's River Campus
ADMISSION: $3 for University of Rochester students; $5 for other college ID holders and University community. Tickets can be purchased at the Common Market in Wilson Commons on the University's River Campus and, if still available, at the door.
The event—presented by UR Hip Hop and UR Concerts—will bring DJ Whoo Kid, G-Unit's official DJ, to Rochester. Whoo Kid, based in Queens, started as an underground mixtape DJ in 2002. Now his syndicated show appears on New York's Hot 97 as well as Sirius Satellite Radio. Whoo Kid has appeared in numerous magazines and even has a clothing line in Japan. In 2004 DJ Whoo Kid won the award for Best Mixtape DJ at Justo Faison's Eighth Annual Mixtape Awards.
