Discussion of Innovative Approaches to Teaching English Opens Urban Education Series Sponsored by Warner School
Miriam Ehtesham and Henry Padron, two bilingual teachers in the Rochester City School District (RCSD), will describe original approaches to teaching students who are immigrants and refugees at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, in the Gowen Room of Wilson Commons on the University of Rochester's River Campus.
Their talk will begin the second annual series of Urban Teaching and Leadership Forums offered by the Margaret Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development at the University of Rochester. All sessions are free and open to the public.
On Thursday, Nov. 30, RCSD Superintendent Manuel Rivera will speak on initiatives to restructure and redesign city secondary schools. His talk, followed by a question-and-answer period, will be held in the Hawkins-Carlson Room of Rush Rhees Library on the River Campus.
Urban Teaching and Leadership (UTL) Forums are designed to provide University, school, and community stakeholders with information on issues facing schools in the Rochester City School District.
