TIME, DATE, AND PLACE: Tropicana dinner, 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 7, Hillside Dining Center in Susan B. Anthony Hall; Tropicana semi-formal, 10 p.m., Friday, April 7, Douglass Dining Center; both on the University of Rochester River Campus
ADMISSION: Tickets for the dinner are being sold only in conjunction with dance tickets. For University students, admission to the dance is $10, and $15 for the dinner/dance package. General admission is $15 for the dance, and $20 for the dinner/dance. Tickets must be purchased in advance at the Common Market in Wilson Commons. Note: Parking is available in University lots after 7 p.m.
Throughout the week of April 2, SALSA, the University of Rochester's Spanish and Latin Students Association, will host their annual Tropicana celebration of Latin and Spanish culture.
The highlight of this weeklong celebration is the annual Tropicana dinner and dance on Friday, April 7. The dinner, which will be catered by Las Tres Antillas restaurant, will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Hillside Dining Center in Susan B. Anthony Hall. The semi-formal will follow immediately after the dinner, officially beginning at 10 p.m. in Douglass Dining Center. Live entertainment will be provided by the merengue band Mala Fe and DJ Baron Lopez from New York City's radio station La Mega 97.9 F.M.
Tickets for the dinner must be purchased in conjunction with tickets to the dance. Admission for University students costs $10 for the dance and $15 for the dinner/dance combination. General admission is $15 for the dance and $20 for the full evening. All tickets must be purchased in advance at the Common Market in Wilson Commons.
