EVENT: Rochester Fans Pack the Palestra for City's 175th Birthday Bash

WHO: The University of Rochester community will commemorate the City\'s 175th birthday with a special celebration during a halftime of the varsity men\'s basketball team\'s home opener against Green Mountain College.

TIME, DATE, PLACE: 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, at the Palestra in the Goergen Athletic Center.

WHAT: University President Joel Seligman, joined by Richard Feldman, Dean of the College, and undergraduates from the Community Service Network will honor the City\'s legacy by presenting an historic memento to Tom Richards, City of Rochester Corporate Counsel and University Trustee.

In addition, University of Rochester a cappella group the Yellow Jackets, along with the pep band, cheerleaders, and mascot Rocky, will get the crowd rocking as they sing \'happy birthday\' around a super-sized 175th birthday cake.
