EVENT: Two Events at Rochester Celebrate Deaf Culture

WHAT: The University of Rochester American Sign Language Club presents two events that explore and celebrate Rochester\'s Deaf community. The events are:

Film Screening: See What I\'m Saying
Wednesday, March 28, 7:30 p.m., Hoyt Auditorium
See What I\'m Saying: The Deaf Entertainers Documentary follows the careers of four deaf, comic CJ Jones, singer TL Forsberg, drummer Bob Hilterman, and actor Robert DeMayo, over the course of one year. Directed and produced by Hilari Scarl, the film has garnered several accolades, including Best Feature Documentary at the Philadelphia Film Festival and Best Film about the Deaf Experience by a Hearing Filmmaker at the WORLDEAF Cinema Festival. The screening is free and open to the public.

American Sign Language Club Presents Comedian and Deaf Entertainer CJ Jones
Thursday, March 29, 7 p.m., Hoyt Auditorium
Internationally known deaf entertainer CJ Jones brings his unique performance to the University of Rochester. Jones, who has performed his one-man show in Japan, Norway, Australia, Canada, and in every state in the union, expertly mixes American Sign Language comedy with inventive, visual storytelling, connecting with both hearing and deaf audiences alike. The event is voice interpreted. Tickets, which are available at the Common Market or at the door, are $3 for University undergraduates, $6 for faculty, staff, and graduate students, and $12 for the general public.
